Our History

1952
Gelmart was founded by the Nasser family as the Philippine American Embroideries Company, manufacturing embroidered handkerchiefs: one of the first companies to produce goods overseas for the US market.

1955-1960
Expanded into other categories including apparel and accessories, hats, gloves and children's wear.

1960
Philippine manufacturing operations shifted to become fully vertical, bringing all phases of the supply chain under one roof. The Nasser family then purchased Gelmart Industries, an established bra manufacturing company. Became the largest manufacturer in the far east with over 15K workers.

1970's-1980’s
Explosive growth at Gelmart, forging partnerships with Walmart, Kmart and Sears. Gelmart manufacturers across the complete spectrum of apparel: childrenswear, ladies dresses, jeans, bras, foundation garments, gloves, socks, etc.

1980's-1990's
Global expansion, opening manufacturing in Egypt, Haiti, China, Indonesia and India

2011
Board of directors appointed Yossi Nasser as president and CEO

2012
Opened an office in mainland China equipped with a product development and sourcing center, and a state-of-the-art sample room

2013
Launched disruptive $3.98 retail bra for Walmart

2015
Gelmart co-founds and incubates LIVELY, a D-T-C lifestyle brand

2017
Opened two manufacturing facilities in the Philippines, WeLively and STP

2018
Successfully launched the Feather Bra on QVC

2019
LIVELY acquired by Wacoal Holdings, the second largest intimates brand in the world

2021
Partnered with Walmart on exclusive sustainable brand, kindly. Patented the first-ever sustainable bra pad, the sugarcup
